HONOLULU – The Hawai’i women’s cross country team will look to continue its strong start to the 2024 season when it heads to the Pacific Northwest for the Charles Bowles Invitational in Salem, Ore. Saturday.
The Rainbow Wahine will send 10 runners to compete in the 5k meet hosted by Willamette that is set to get underway at 7:20 a.m. HT.

UH is coming off of a solid showing the last time out at the UCR Invitational in which it turned in its highest-ever team finish in the event, coming in eighth. Three ‘Bows placed in the top 30 led by freshman Lucy Milliner, who came in 10th with a time of 20:15.2. Emilie Kirk Langschwager followed close behind in 14th with a mark of 20:19.9 while Sariah Hernandez placed 26th in 20:37.0.
Milliner, Langschwager and Hernandez each posted top-five marks in program history, moving into the No. 2-4 spots all-time at UH. Zola O’Donnell followed the UH top three in Riverside with a time of 21:38.6 while Kira Moe rounded out the Hawai’i top five with a time of 22:04.7.
The Rainbow Wahine delivered that strong performance at the UCR Invitational after posting a perfect effort in the season-opening Big Wave Invitational at Kahuku Golf Course, in which they swept the top five spots for a perfect score of 15 points.
Last year at the Charles Bowles Invitational, Hawai’i placed fourth as a team led by Langschwager, who came in seventh by posting the fourth-fastest 5k time in school history with a time of 17:27.0.
