The Tournament of Champions is an invitation-only freeroll tournament with a $1m prize pool. Everyone who won a WSOP Circuit ring or WSOP bracelet from June 2024 to May 2025 is eligible to participate. “We are happy to return to The Commerce Casino & Hotel for the WSOP Tournament of Champions and our 15th consecutive $1,000,000 freeroll,” said WSOP Chief Executive Officer Ty Stewart in Wednesday’s press release. “With a $2 million guaranteed Circuit Main Event, WSOP satellites and nonstop action at the world’s biggest poker room, this is like the opening ceremonies for the 2025 WSOP.”
To Stewart’s “opening ceremonies” comment, the World Series of Poker kicks off on May 27 at Paris Las Vegas and Horseshoe Las Vegas on the Strip.
The Tournament of Champions will also coincide with a WSOP Circuit stop at The Commerce Casino May 8 through May 24. The poker festival will consist of 18 official ring events with over $3.5m in guaranteed prize pools. The $1,700 Main Event, which runs May 16 through May 20, has a $2m guarantee.
The Commerce stop will be the last on the 2024-2025 WSOP Circuit schedule.
