DENVER (KDVR) — A woman was shot in Aurora while attempting to meet with potential online sellers, the Aurora Police Department reported Monday night.
The incident occurred near the intersection of East 12th Avenue and North Memphis Street at about 8:30 p.m. Monday. The location is in the Laredo Highline neighborhood near the High Line Canal and south Interstate 70.
According to police, a man and a woman arranged a meeting to purchase items Monday night, but two suspects attempted to rob them at gunpoint during the transaction.
Police said this resulted in a physical fight, and the woman was shot in the shoulder. She was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. The man was not injured.
Both suspects “ran off,” according to police, and had not been located as of 9:15 p.m. The agency did not provide any suspect descriptions but said that all tips can be directed to the Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
