The low-pressure system causing the widespread snow and rain moved into New Mexico from southeast Arizona early this morning. As we head into Friday, this storm will continue to drop several inches of snow across the state before the low moves out of New Mexico by Saturday afternoon.
This low pressure is bringing heavy snowfall to central New Mexico and up. The heaviest snowfall is in the northeast. Though Winter Storm Warnings are in place for most of the state through the November 8. Blizzard Warnings are also in place for northeast New Mexico as we head into Friday evening where and additional 6-12″ is possible with as much as 3′ in some locations.
Roadways are continuing to be impacted heading overnight across the state. The snow and wind are causing low visibility and dangerous driving conditions.
Northeast New Mexico will not be seeing a break from the snow until Saturday when the low-pressure system moves on from New Mexico.
