Winds will be lighter today but still breezy. Temperatures will also continue to cool off, back closer to average for most of the state. There is still a fire threat in place for a large portion of the state today as well.
The wind is going to be sticking around though with more breezy conditions Monday and even windier weather by Tuesday. This will bring in warmer temperatures once again along with a high fire danger, especially on Tuesday. Tuesday afternoon is when westerly winds could gust up to 60 mph, causing areas of blowing sand and dust. Cooler air will move in with a cold front Tuesday night. Winds will also relax starting Wednesday.
Forecast models are coming into better agreement on a storm system late next week that could hopefully bring in widespread chances for rain across New Mexico, especially Friday.
