It’s going to be an active week of weather across much of Northwest Arkansas and the River Valley as our weather pattern begins to change throughout the coming days. The most pressing concern over the next couple of days will be the newly introduced extreme wildfire danger for the entire KNWA/FOX24 coverage area. The combination of drought, low relative humidity and gusty southerly winds up to 40 MPH will cause any fires to quickly get out of control. It’s very important that you stay weather aware over the coming days, as even the smallest spark could lead to big fires that are very difficult to put out.

Thankfully, a big pattern shift is expected by the time we get to Wednesday! Multiple rounds of showers and storms are looking possible over the next several days, with even the threat for strong to severe storms late Wednesday afternoon into early Thursday morning. Large hail, damaging winds and even a low end tornado threat will be possible, so stay tuned to the latest details as more high-resolution data becomes available!

Join us this morning on KNWA Today or FOX24 News at 7 for all of the latest weather details, and have a marvelous rest of your Monday!
