CONNECTICUT (WTNH) — Private universities top the list of “best colleges in Connecticut” for 2025, according to a WalletHub report released Monday.
The personal-finance website released its list of “2025’s Best College & University Rankings,” in an effort to help high school seniors considering college make their decision.
Their report lists a Connecticut-specific ranking as:
- Yale University
- Wesleyan University
- Trinity College
- Connecticut College
- University of Connecticut
- Fairfield University
- Western Connecticut State University
- Quinnipiac University
- University of Hartford
- Eastern Connecticut State University
For their country-wide list, WalletHub experts said they compared over 800 schools in the country based on 30 measurements, which included categories like cost and financing and career outcomes.
In Connecticut, they said Yale University scored the highest possible points in admission rate, student-faculty ratio, gender and racial diversity, graduation rate, and post-attendance median salary.
The university was between “average” and “worst” for on-campus crime and near “worst” for net cost.
The other top two schools also ranked “worst” for on-campus crime, with Trinity College getting a 10 out of 11.
WalletHub ranked all universities and colleges across the country as follows:
- Princeton University
- Yale University
- Harvard University
- Massachusetts Institute of Technology
- Dartmouth College
- Rice University
- California Institute of Technology
- Carnegie Mellon University
- Northwestern University
- John Hopkins University
