Vote early for September 14 Tennessee House District 51 and Metropolitan Runoff Election – Nashville PRIDE, Inc.

Early voting for the September 14 Tennessee House District 51 and Metropolitan Runoff Election began Friday, and will continue until Saturday, September 9.

The Tennessee House of Representatives District 51 election will be between David C. Hooven (R), Aftyn Behn (D), and Annabelle Lee (I). Aftyn Behn defeated former councilman Anthony Davis in the primary. Should neither of the candidates receive more than 50% of the vote, the election will go to a runoff.

Additionally, the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County will be holding its runoff election for Mayor, and Council At Large, Council District 4, and Council District 11. Voters will have to choose four of the eight candidates for Council At Large seats. 

Polling officials encourage residents to take advantage of early voting. Early voting offers the flexibility of evening and Saturday hours, along with multiple polling locations.

“If you registered recently, don’t be discouraged if your name isn’t on the list at the polling place,” said one official. “We recommend voting early so you can work out any issues.”

Voters can download the GoVoteTN app, available in the App Store or Google Play, to view voter-specific information. Voters can find early voting and Election Day polling locations, view and mark sample ballots and much more. The platform is also available at <GoVoteTN.com>.

Residents voting early or on Election Day should remember to bring valid photo identification with them to the polls. A driver’s license or photo ID issued by the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security as well as photo IDs issued by Tennessee state government or the federal government are acceptable even if they are expired. College student IDs are not acceptable.

All early voting locations are open Mondays from 8 am to 5:30 pm; Tuesdays from 8 am to 7 pm; Wednesday from 8 am to 4:30 pm; Thursday from 8 am to 7 pm; Friday from 8 am to 5:30 pm; and Saturday from 8 am to 4:30 pm.

Early voting ends on Saturday, September 9 and Election Day is Thursday, September 14. On Election Day, citizens must vote at their assigned polling place.
