The first VLCC sales since the middle of June are appearing in broking reports.
The 14-year-old, Japanese-built Apollo Harmony has been sold by Idemitsu Tanker for $58m to unspecified Greek interests. The scrubber-fitted vessel has dry-docked recently and just passed its special survey.
Meanwhile, Patria Nusasegara from Indonesia has recorded a today profit from the sale of the 18-year-old, Japanese-built PNS Serena, securing $42m for a ship it picked up four years ago for $31m.
Last week Euronav offloaded a VLCC for conversion into a floating production, storage, and offloading vessel.
The Alexander Saverys-led dual-listed owner said in its quarterly earnings statement that a deal had been struck with a subsidiary of TotalEnergies for the 2012 Samsung-built Alsace.
The 299,999 dwt ship, estimated as worth about $72.5m, should exit the fleet in the first quarter of 2025 and bring in a profit of $27.5m, Euronav said.
