ROME, Ga.—University of Hawai’i men’s tennis players Azuma Visaya and Quinn Snyder fell in the Semifinal Round at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s (ITA). The Hawai’i duo will play for third place on Sunday with a chance to punch their ticket to the NCAA Championship on the line.
The Hawai’i pair earned the respect of tourney goers receiving the 2024 ITA Conference Masters Championship Sportsmanship Award which is voted on by tournament staff and referees.

In Saturday’s semifinal match, Visaya and Snyder were edged out in the first set that ended in a tie-breaker. Mississippi State’s Petar Jovanovic and Benito Sanchez Martinez then pulled away for the straight set win, 7-6 (3), 6-3.
The top three doubles teams from the ITA Conference Masters Championship advance to the NCAA Championships. On Sunday, Visaya and Snyder will take on UNC Charlotte’s Vasco Prata and Matias Iturbo in the third place match with a chance to advance to the NCAA Championships hosted by Baylor in Waco, Texas.
