FORTH SMITH, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — The Sebastian County Sherrif’s Office (SBCO) has confirmed that authorities are responding to a vehicle pursuit in Fort Smith.
The pursuit ended in a crash around 9 p.m. One witness says she heard the suspect’s tires lock up before taking out a traffic signal.
She also reports damage to nearby streetlights and a state trooper car.
The suspect was seen being taken from the car and eventually checked out by paramedics on scene.
SBCO said the chase was located at N. Greenwood Avenue and Kinkead Avenue at 8:45 p.m.
