We can now confirm that there was no credible threat to the students of East Jessamine High School.
Our response was the result of a call regarding a subject at that school with a firearm.
This call has been categorized as a “prank” and a suspect is in custody.

All lockdowns have been lifted, and JCS schools have resumed their normal schedules. The Nicholasville Police Department continues to investigate the situation that led to the lockdown. We will provide additional updates to families as new information becomes available.

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Nicholasville Police say emergency responders were called to East Jessamine High School Wednesday morning following an unsubstantiated threat.
According to police on their Facebook account, all emergency services responded to the high school as a precaution. Officials emphasized there are no active threats and no injuries have been reported.
The Nicholasville Police Department says officers are actively investigating the incident and ask the community to remain patient as the situation is addressed.
