A man died on Sunday after he was hit by a train near Chatsworth in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles, authorities confirmed.
The collision occurred at 12:03 p.m. Sunday in the area of 19840 West Nordhoff Place, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The man was hit by a Metrolink train, the department said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
As of Sunday afternoon, he was identified only as a man estimated to be between 30 and 50 years old. No additional details, including why the man was on the tracks, were immediately made available.
No passengers aboard the train were injured.
