ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — Three controlled burns are scheduled to take place across St. Louis County starting Tuesday at Creve Coeur Lake Park.
The Saint Louis County Parks and Recreation Department will conduct the prescribed burns to maintain and improve local ecosystems.
The first burn will take place Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Creve Coeur Lake Park, and weather permitting, the two additional burns will take place Thursday at Cliff Cave Park and Friday at Queeny Park.
According to Saint Louis County Parks and Recreation, they conduct five to 10 prescribed burns annually between early spring and mid-fall.
They advise the public to be aware of the controlled burns and avoid the affected areas during burn times.
