NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A third former employee of the Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office was arrested on Tuesday following an internal financial fraud investigation.
According to the OPSO, this arrest follows those of two other former employees, one, identified as 57-year-old Labrina Carey Lackey, on Dec. 2, and another, identified as Kenneth Aaron Lawson, on Nov. 29.
Now, officials say 51-year-old Toya Robertson has been arrested and booked into the Orleans Justice Center. She is accused of the same crimes as Lackey, and allegedly participated in the same financial scheme to defraud the agency of over $90,000.

The scheme reportedly involved falsifying journal entries and issuing unauthorized check disbursements from former jail resident accounts in order to hide cash discrepancies in the OPSO Inmate Trust Fund.
Robertson faces the following felony charges:
- Theft over $25,000
- Monetary instrument abuse
- Obstruction of justice
- Injuring public records
- Filing false public records
- Malfeasance in office
- Public contract fraud
