TANGIPAHOA PARISH, La. (WGNO) — Troopers with the Louisiana State Police are investigating a crash that left a driver dead in Tangipahoa Parish on Sunday, March 16.
The LSP reported that the crash happened on Interstate 55 north of Louisiana Highway 10 around 2 a.m.
LSP officials said an initial investigation shows that a Honda was heading south on Interstate 55 when it veered off the road, hit an embankment and hit a tree. The Honda then reportedly caught fire.
The driver, who has not been identified by the LSP, was pronounced dead at the scene.
LSP officials said the investigation is ongoing, and routine toxicology samples were collected.
