NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Storms are on the way to start the week as a cold front moves into the area. Expect the chance for a few showers and storms tonight to the north but most of the activity will move in around sunrise and after. This will be a band of rain that could be locally heavy at times.
Right now, the threat of severe weather looks low, although we do have a level 1 outlook over the area from the SPC. Gusty winds will be possible, but most storms will likely remain below severe limits.
There is a chance of isolated street flooding due to the heavy rain. Storms will continue through the morning and then taper off later in the day.
After Monday we dry out for the next several days as temperatures remain warm with upper 70s to low 80s by Tuesday and Wednesday.
