HONOLULU—University of Hawai’i head softball coach Bob Coolen announced the signing of three players to the 2026 roster. Maryn Macneil, Briana Maio-Silva and Bailey Nagasako have all signed to become the newest Rainbow Wahine softball players.
Macneil is a 5-9 right-handed pitcher from Roseville, Calif. from Woodcreek High School where she recorded a 16-7 record with 269 strikeouts and a 2.195 ERA in 267.0 innings pitched. Last season, she was voted all-league Most Valuable Player while also earning all-league first team honors.
“Maryn is a right-handed pitcher/first baseman who hits for herself in the lineup.” says Coolen. “She throws 62-63 mph and will fit into the rotation as a strong pitcher and hitter.”
Maio-Silva and Nagasako have helped lead H.P. Baldwin High School on Maui to three league titles. . Maio-Silva is a 5-7 middle infielder who bats left and throws right and hit .407 last season. She earned all-conference first team honors and was named all-state honorable mention the last two years.
“Briana, a.k.a “Ana”, is a middle infielder and an outfielder. She has a very strong throw from SS and the outifield,” says Coolen.
Nagasako plays catcher, first and third in the infield who also bats left and throws right. Last year she hit .457 for the Bears. Nagasako was twice voted all-state honorable mention. In addition to several club team accomplishments, Nagasako has also gotten the job done in the classroom as well earning Principal’s List and Honor Roll honors every year since 2022 while being a leadership student for three years running.
“Bailey is a catcher/infielder who can call her own games behind the plate,” says Coolen. “She too has a strong throw and can hit for power from the left side.”
