SGF Business Lab Connects Small Businesses with Resources
The City’s Department of Workforce and Economic Vitality is hosting an event aimed at helping small businesses and entrepreneurs connect with the City and other resources to help them thrive. The SGF Business Lab is Friday, Dec. 13, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the efactory, 405 N. Jefferson in Springfield.
SGF Business Lab is a free half day workshop featuring presentations and panel discussions on how to write a business plan, secure financing, acquire permits, select a site, take advantage of tax incentives and more! Participants will hear from current small business owners about their challenges and successes in running a business. Several community partners will also be participating in panel discussions to offer their expertise.
“The City wants to help small businesses be successful and encourage entrepreneurship in Springfield, so we created the SGF Business Lab. Our hope is that we can help small businesses and startups navigate the city requirements of permitting and licensing, while also making them aware of resources we and other organizations offer,” said Amanda Ohlensehlen, Director of Workforce & Economic Vitality.
Lunch is provided but participants need to RSVP. To register, please visit https://www.springfieldmo.gov/SBL.
