Blinken spoke with Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly today on the margins of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum to discuss a broad range of issues vital to our bilateral relationship and strategic partnership around the globe. Secretary Blinken reiterated the need for the United States and Canada to finalize a modernized Columbia River Treaty. Secretary Blinken and Minister Joly also discussed international and hemispheric issues of significance, including security and stability in Haiti, ending the crisis in the Middle East, and Arctic security.
