Atlanta is hosting the SEC Championship Game between the Georgia Bulldogs and Texas Longhorns on Saturday at 4 p.m. at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
City officials are urging fans to take MARTA to the game and adjacent events, which can be easily accessed by disembarking at the Mercedez-Benz/State Farm Arena/GWCC rail station.
The Dr. Pepper SEC FanFare is being at the Georgia World Congress Center on Friday until 7 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Expect interactive events, pep rallies, and a live version of ESPN’s Marty & McGee Show and a live concert from Dan + Shay, both starting at noon on Saturday.
Following the game, Lil Baby & Friends are in concert next door at State Farm Arena at 7 p.m.
If you happen to be traveling by car to the SEC weekend events, be sure to avoid a stretch of Peachtree Street in Midtown. The street is closed through Monday between 3rd and 5th streets while a crane is removed from a student housing tower project at 4th and Peachtree.
If you’re staying home, the SEC Championship will be airing live on ABC, WSB 750 AM and 95.5 FM.
