MOUNT PLEASANT — All lanes of Interstate 526 eastbound near Long Point Road have reopened after a rush hour collision stalled traffic for nearly an hour Dec. 3.
Multiple emergency vehicles were on the scene of a crash near mile marker 27, according to SC Department of Transportation traffic cameras.
The Mount Pleasant Police Department notified the public of the closure at around 7:50 a.m. on X. Initially, the rightmost lane was closed, but first responders moved the road barricade to the left lane not long after the MPPD post, according to live traffic cameras.
Emergency crews are parked along the left shoulder on the adjacent westbound mile marker. While no lanes were closed on I-526 west, traffic severely slowed.
Further details on the circumstances of the collision and reported injuries were unknown at the time of reporting.
