Local residents can buy their Christmas tree from Riverwood International Charter School’s baseball team again this year during an annual fundraiser.
“This is the 30th year that Riverwood Baseball has been selling Christmas trees in Sandy Springs. The service we provide to busy families is what keeps us going, and we are so grateful to our long-time customers, Riverwood Baseball Coach Phillip Byrd said in a news release. “There aren’t many traditions that can boast a 30-year lifespan, but thanks to a lot of work from our coaches, players, and families, we’re proud to be going strong.”
Customers are invited to order the Fraser Fir Christmas trees online, the news release said. After making their order, they can select their tree at the Riverwood High School tree lot from Nov. 30-Dec. 2, or the team will choose their tree.
Delivery within the Riverwood school district is available for an additional fee, the release said. The baseball team does not anticipate offering walk-up sales and advises community members to pre-order securely online. The ordering deadline is Nov. 17.
Byrd said Riverwood baseball players and parents volunteer at the tree lot, helping customers select the trees they ordered, fresh-cutting the trunks, and loading them onto cars and trucks.
