WATERVLIET, N.Y. (NEWS10)– Quechua Peruvian Restaurant celebrated its grand opening Wednesday. The new restaurant is located in the former Teta Marie’s Lebanese Restaurant space at 1297 Broadway in Watervliet.
This restaurant is the second business for owners, Edith and Oscar Geronimo. According to the Geronimos, in 2015, they and another family member opened Salsa Latina in Albany before opening Greenbush Salsa Latina in 2021. The Geronimos then became only the owners of the East Greenbush location, rather than Albany.

The Quechua Restaurant will feature classic Peruvian dishes such as ceviche, as well as Japanese, Italian, and Spanish fusion dishes.
“Peruvian food is a fusion,” owner Oscar said.
In October, the owners said owning a Peruvian restaurant is a dream come true. Rensselaer Mayor Stammel and Watervliet Mayor Charles Patricelli were in attendance at the grand opening.
“They treated us to some special samples of their food, which was delicious,” Mayor Patricelli said. “It is a Peruvian cuisine and worth a visit, you won’t be disappointed.”
The business will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
