
A pedestrian was struck and killed Thursday by a speeding vehicle in Point Loma, according to police.
The pedestrian was crossing Nimitz Blvd. at 5 a.m. Thursday when he was struck by a BMW that may have damage to the front passenger door, according to a San Diego Police Department watch commander.
The BMW was speeding with two other vehicles, possibly a Dodge Charger and a white Mustang.
All three vehicles drove away from the scene.
U.S. Naval Base Police found the BMW abandoned on Canon St., south of Del Mar Ave., according to OnScene TV.
Southbound Nimitz Blvd. was shut down to traffic at West Point Loma Blvd. while police investigate the death.
