TERREBONNE PARISH, La. (WGNO) — Troopers with the Louisiana State Police are investigating a crash that left a pedestrian dead in Terrebonne Parish on Monday, Sept. 9.
The LSP reported the crash happened on Louisiana Highway 57 near Avet Street around 8 p.m.
LSP officials said an initial investigation shows that a person was hit by a vehicle near Louisiana Highway 57. According to the LSP, the driver of the vehicle then left the scene and did not call law enforcement.
The pedestrian suffered moderate injuries and was taken to a hospital, where they later died.
LSP officials said while the exact make and model of the vehicle are unknown, troopers believe it is a dark-colored pickup truck that would have damage to the front.
