A 66-year-old man was struck by a mid-size vehicle on Tuesday afternoon and died in a hospital, the El Cajon Police Department said Wednesday.
The pedestrian was struck at 5:17 p.m. Tuesday at 800 South Magnolia Ave. by a driver of a 2018 black Ford Fusion.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with police, the statement said.

Alcohol or drugs were not suspected to be a factor in the collision.
The pedestrian’s identity is known, but his name is being withheld until his family is notified, the police statement said.
