ST. TAMMANY PARISH, La. (WGNO) — Troopers with the Louisiana State Police are investigating a crash that left a Pearl River motorcyclist dead on Monday, Nov. 18.
The LSP reported that the crash happened on U.S. Highway 90 at the East Middle Pearl River Bridge around 5:30 p.m.
LSP officials said an initial investigation shows that 64-year-old Roy Provost was riding a motorcycle west on U.S. Highway 90 toward the closed East Middle Pearl River Bridge when he hit an embankment.
He was then ejected from the motorcycle.
Provost suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene despite wearing the proper helmet.
LSP officials said the investigation is ongoing, and routine toxicology samples were collected.
