Bainbridge Island, Wash., (September 6, 2024) – The City of Bainbridge Island is seeking proposals for tourism projects and activities for 2025. Approved projects would be funded by the City’s Civic Improvement Fund.
Proposals must be for tourism marketing projects, marketing and operations of special events or festivals, the operation of eligible tourism-related facilities, or capital expenses for an eligible tourism-related facility. Civic Improvement Funds may be used to create new tourism promotion programs or to support or enhance existing programs.
For 2025, there are approximately $400,000 in Civic Improvement Funds available for distribution to support selected projects. Proposals should be filled out by the digital online form by 4:00 p.m. on Monday, September 30, 2024. The City Council has approved funding within a wide range, to encourage innovative projects of all sizes that recognize and promote the exciting – and expanding – tourism trends and opportunities happening on Bainbridge Island. In general, awards will be made in amounts between $5,000 and $200,000. Applications that exceed $200,000 are allowed; these applicants may receive additional questions or requests for documentation to support the request. Awards will not be made for amounts less than $5,000 to support efficiency on the part of both the applicant organizations and City administration.
Proposals will be provided to the City’s Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC) for review and comment. The LTAC will provide its recommendation to the City Council for a final funding decision in the fall.
