NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Hotels in New Orleans are officially sold out for the first two days of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, with limited availability on her third and final day of the concert. However, if a room happens to open up, it’s likely you’ll be paying a high price.
“We have been sold out for a while, but the occupancy has been insane,” said Steffanie Arnold with Virgin Hotels. “Occupancy has doubled from statistics from last year, and then our average daily rate has actually tripled.”
For many, preparations started back in spring, with staff planning a variety of Taylor Swift-themed drinks and events.
“She’s an economic boom, no doubt. But to see it, it’s great to see not only for hotels but business up and down the corridor, CBD, Warehouse, everywhere,” said Aaron Osborne, the general manager at the Hyatt Centric French Quarter New Orleans.
“No other city could host a Taylor Swift concert, Bayou classic, New Orleans Bowl, Sugar Bowl, the National Automobile Dealers Association, Mardi Gras and Super Bowl within several months and do it with style and grace like we do,” said Mark Romig with New Orleans and Company.
Romig says over 150,00 people are expected to come into town for Taylor’s tour.
The Eras Tour will take place at the Superdome on Oct. 25, 26 and 27.
