NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – New Mexico State Police and the Cannabis Control Division (CCD) have cleared more than 100,000 pounds of illegal Marijuana plants outside of Farmington.
In June 2024 CCD performed a compliance check into NNK Equities at 23 Road 6940 in Waterflow, NM and it was determined NNK exceeded its allotted plant count. A second complaint was received for a large grow at 3658 US 64 in Waterflow, NM and a portion of the property was leased to NNK Equities. NMSP was assigned to assist and the CCD began the process of revoking NNK Equities cannabis license due to numerous violations. In August 2024 NNK Equities license was revoked.
On September 30 a temporary restraining order was granted to the CCD, giving law enforcement the authority to destroy cannabis at both properties. On October 16, multiple agencies worked together to eradicate the cannabis at both properties. NMSP says the total weight of cannabis plants destroyed was approximately 170,000 pounds
