New Mexico honoring historic women with markers around the state

NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – The New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs is encouraging New Mexicans to celebrate Women’s History Month by visiting one of the historical markers honoring a remarkable woman.

The New Mexico Women’s Historic Marker Initiative includes nearly 100 of these markers around the state honoring women that have been important to New Mexico’s history. From artists to educators to entrepreneurs, the markers tell their stories and explain how they shaped our state’s culture.
