(KRON) — Two suspects wanted in an armed robbery of a stolen necklace were found with multiple weapons, announced the Pittsburg Police Department (PPD).
PPD said it issued a BOLO (Be on the Lookout) alert on Oct. 15 at 11 p.m. for the suspects who were reported to be “carrying a handgun and AK-47 rifle.”
At 1:30 a.m. on Oct. 16, the Antioch Police Department (APD) said it responded to a parking lot disturbance at 320 W 20th St. and found a white Chrysler 300 with a “suspected controlled substance” inside.
Authorities said two people were detained by APD officers who then located a “fully loaded AK-47 rifle and a Glock handgun with an extended magazine.” Police said it discovered another AK-47 rifle in a backpack during the search.
Pittsburg PD arrived and confirmed the suspects as those linked to the armed robbery and recovered the stolen necklace. PPD said it took custody of the suspects, the suspects’ vehicle, and the weapons.
There is no word yet on what charges will be filed.
