BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Nardin Academy has named a new president following a search that lasted over a year, the school announced Monday.
Dr. Eric Miles, who currently serves as Head of School at Brandon Academy in Brandon, Fla., will be the new president beginning in July 2025.
The hire ends a search that began in 2023 following the resignation of Dr. Sandra Betters after she resigned in June 2023. Unrest within the school had begun that spring when students held a walkout in protest of the school’s administration. She had taken over as president in 2021.
The Nardin Academy Board of Trustees announced on May 4, 2023 that nine board members would step down along with Dr. Betters, but all 15 board members ended up being removed later that month.
In August 2023 Dr. Betters sued Nardin as well as several current and former board members, alleging a “smear campaign” conducted by faculty members, administrators and board members.
Since Dr. Betters’ departure, Rebecca Reeder has been serving as interim president.
