After receiving multiple 911 calls on Saturday morning, Bangor police investigated a potential hostage situation near Sidney Street.
After receiving a 911 call at around 8 a.m. that disconnected, another call came in to dispatchers, Sgt. Jason McAmbley of the Bangor Police Department said in a press release.
During the second 911 call, the Bangor Special Response Team came to believe that the caller was being held hostage by someone that reportedly had a gun. The caller was able to be located and was taken to safety.
First responders were unable to determine a clear timeline of events, and the site was cleared by noon.
No one was taken into custody, and no charges have been filed at this time.
Bangor police continue to investigate the situation.
