DENVER – The Wichita State men’s tennis team is set to travel to Denver’s Denver Tennis Park to take part in the Colorado Cup November 1-4
The Cup gives the Shockers an opportunity to get a plethora of matches in late in the fall season. Seven Shockers are making the trip to compete in Denver. The matches will be played in a hidden dual match format, meaning teams will play against each other with a round of doubles, followed by a round of singles. Scoring will be in the standard, dual-match format scoring of spring matches.
The Shockers will be competing against Air Force, Pennsylvania, and Denver. Matches will be played both indoor and outdoor based on weather. There will be no live scoring for the matches, but all 13 courts will have live streaming.
The competition for the Shockers will be stiff, as both Pennsylvania and Denver finished the 2024 spring season ranked in the ITA top 75 rankings, with Denver ranked 44th and Penn ranked 73rd. Denver also has a player ranked in the ITA top 125 singles rankings in Daniel Sancho Arbizu who is ranked 94th.
