NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – Moments of heavy rainfall will be seen throughout the middle of our morning and into our lunch hour this afternoon. This cold front is taking its sweet time getting here. The slow moving frontal boundary will be the trigger for shower and thunderstorm activity today. Some storms may be strong to severe. A marginal risk, level 1/5, has been issued by the Storm Prediction Center for southeast Louisiana.

Multiple severe thunderstorms have been warned to our west. Wind gusts may be seen up tp 70 mph within the strong thunderstorm new New Iberia. The storm is traveling to the east towards Donaldsonville and Laplace.

Temps hang around the upper 60s for all of the morning before warming up into the mid 70s this afternoon. Partly cloudy and warmer by tomorrow with high in the low 80s.
