CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Hundreds of turkeys and side items will be given out Thursday to ensure people have what they need for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday.
Data from Feeding America shows that 45,000 Charleston County residents are considered food insecure. That number is up from over 32,000 the year before.
Molina Healthcare of South Carolina will distribute 450 turkeys and non-perishable food items from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Community Impact Church (2429 Midland Park Road).
Turkeys and food items will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
A selection of local agencies will be available during Thursday’s giveaway to share information about community resources.
If you cannot make it to this giveaway, additional Thanksgiving distributions are planned through early next week. Click here for a list of locations and dates.
