HONOLULU – The University of Hawai’i men’s volleyball team announced its 2025 schedule which includes 29 regular season matches and 19 home contests at SimpliFi Arena at Stan Sheriff Center.
In addition, UH will host the Outrigger Big West Championship for the second consecutive year and fifth time overall. The three-day tournament runs April 24-26 at SimpliFi Arena.
Twelve of the 18 opponents on this year’s schedule were ranked in the final 2024 AVCA poll – No. 2 Long Beach State, No. 4 UC Irvine, No. 6 Stanford, No. 7 BYU, No. 8 Penn State, No. 11 Ball State, No. 13 USC, No. 14 CSUN, No. 16 Lindenwood, No. 18 Princeton, No. 19 McKendree, and No. 20 UC San Diego.
One of the nation’s premiere in-season tournaments, the Outrigger Resorts Invitational will be held for the 29th time featuring Ball State of the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association, Penn State of the Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association, and USC of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation. The tournament runs March 13-15 with two matches each day.
As one of the leaders in helping grow the game of men’s volleyball, Hawai’i has once again scheduled a first-year program in Catawba College, Division II school from North Carolina, who will be competing as an independent. The Rainbow Warriors will play the Indians, Feb. 22 in Salisbury, N.C. On that same road trip to North Carolina, UH will play at Belmont Abbey, Feb. 20 and Queens, Feb. 21-22.
UH’s other non-conference opponents include a season-opening series with McKendree, Jan. 3 & 5, Harvard, Jan. 8 &10, Princeton, Jan. 15 & 17, at BYU, Jan. 31 & Feb. 1, Stanford, Feb. 5 & 7, and Lindenwood, March 5 & 7.
Hawai’i begins its eighth season in the Big West with a two-match series against UC Irvine, Feb. 28 & March 2 at SimpliFi Arena that begins a nine-match homestand. UH will also host conference foes UC San Diego, March 28-29, and Long Beach State, April 11-12, and travel to CSUN, April 4-5, and UC Santa Barbara, April 18-19.
The Big West Championship returns to Mānoa for the fourth time in the last five seasons. The eight-team NCAA Championship runs May 10 & 12 in Columbus, Ohio.
Season tickets for the 2025 season will go on sale in the coming weeks. Fans can get a glimpse of the 2025 squad at a free exhibition match against British Columbia, Monday, Dec. 30 at 6:00 p.m., at SimpliFi Arena.
