WEST HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — A man was stabbed and killed early this morning at a bar in West Haven after an altercation occurred, says police.
West Haven police say that just after 2:00 a.m., multiple emergency calls reported a stabbing at the Muzeum Sports Bar and Grill at 631 Campbell Ave.
When first responders arrived, they found a male with a stab wound on the front of his body. Life saving techniques were administered and the victim was taken to a local hospital where he later died. His identity has not been revealed.
The suspect left in a vehicle heading northbound on Campbell Ave., says police.
Investigators say “some type of altercation” started inside the bar between the victim and suspect prior to the stabbing.
The West Haven Detective Division is leading the investigation and secured the area surrounding the bar.
