CHICAGO – A man was killed and a woman was wounded after a shooting Sunday afternoon in Little Village.
Chicago police said the shooting happened at around 4 p.m. in the 4000 block of West 26th Street.
A 43-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman were standing on the sidewalk when a dark-colored sedan drove up. That’s when someone inside the sedan fired multiple shots toward the two victims. The vehicle then drove off in an unknown direction, according to investigators.
Police said the man was shot multiple times and taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital in critical condition. He later died from his injuries. The woman, meanwhile, was shot once in the left leg and taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital in good condition.
No arrests have been made and Area Four Detectives are investigating.
This is the secondly deadly shooting reported in Little Village on Sunday. The first one happened at around 1:30 a.m. when police said a 16-year-old boy was killed and a 15-year-old boy was wounded after being shot in the 2600 block of South Avers Avenue.
