RIVERVIEW, Fla. — The 26-year-old man suspected in Sunday’s fatal road rage shooting is facing a series of charges.
The charges are stemming from the shooting that happened Sunday at 2:15 p.m. on U.S. Highway 301 and Bloomingdale Avenue.
Hillsborough County Sheriff’s detectives have identified Kentavious Gholston, 26, as the shooter and determined he tampered with physical evidence related to the case.
On Monday, Gholston was arrested and has been charged with:
- 2nd Degree Murder with a Firearm
- Aggravated Assault with a Firearm
- Tampering with Physical Evidence
- VOP — Domestic Violence Battery by Strangulation
Officials said upon arrival Sunday at the shooting scene, they located a man with upper body trauma. He was immediately transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Through witness interviews, our detectives learned that the suspect had fled the scene.
“There is never a justification for an altercation to end in violence,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Our detectives are fully committed to this investigation, and we will ensure that justice is served for the victim.”
