LitUp Network Singapore Pte Ltd, a subsidiary of OMS Group Sdn Bhd, has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with International Gateway Company Limited, marking a significant step towards enhancing network connectivity infrastructure in Thailand and expanding both LitUp Network’s and International Gateway Company’s presence in the Asean region.
In a statement, the firm confirmed that this is part of OMS Group’s US$300 million (RM1.2 billion) allocation to invest in expanding its submarine cable systems and terrestrial infrastructure. This investment will play a crucial role in supporting the strategic collaboration outlined in the MoU, enabling both companies to develop advanced connectivity solutions that meet the growing demand for reliable internet services across the region.
The MoU outlines a collaboration between the two companies to work together on various projects in Thailand and the Asean region, including cable landing stations and submarine cable systems. The collaboration will encompass the following initiatives:
- Network Connectivity Infrastructure: Develop and deliver advanced network connectivity infrastructure to support the growing demand for high-speed, reliable internet services.
- Submarine Cable Landing Solutions: Establish and manage submarine cable landing stations, points of presence, and associated infrastructure essential for the successful deployment of the submarine cable system and landing facilities.
- Future Collaboration: The partnership will extend to all future digital infrastructure projects, leveraging the expertise and resources of both parties.
“We are thrilled to partner with International Gateway Company on this pivotal initiative. This MoU represents a significant milestone in our journey to expand our network infrastructure capabilities in Thailand and the wider ASEAN region. Together, we will deliver world-class connectivity solutions that are crucial for the digital economy,” said Rozaimy Rahman, Managing Director of LitUp Network.

LitUp Network and International Gateway Company are also working together on a new subsea cable system from Songkhla to Rayong and related terrestrial links, called the Satun-Hatyai-Songkhla-Rayong cable system. This will complement two other systems currently in development, namely the Hatyai to Padang Besar and Hatyai to Bukit Kayu Hitam. This strategic partnership will not only strengthen LitUp Network’s and International Gateway Company’s foothold in Thailand but also aligns with their broader mission to expand their presence across the ASEAN region. By combining the strengths of both companies, this collaboration aims to deliver innovative connectivity solutions that will drive and accelerate digital transformation and foster economic growth in Thailand and beyond.
