DANIEL ISLAND — All lanes on Interstate 526 westbound on the Don Holt Bridge have reopened to traffic after a vehicle collision partially closed the roadway March 26.
I-526 reopened at approximately 10:45 a.m. after being closed for a little under an hour, according to Charleston police spokesperson Sgt. Christopher Stinson.
The collision had occurred just after Exit 23 to Clements Ferry Road, according to traffic cameras maintained by the state Department of Transportation. Multiple vehicles were involved. One occupant was transported to an area hospital, Stinson said.
Westbound traffic was backed up for miles on I-526 after 10 a.m. as vehicles were barred from using the rightmost lane.
