John Krasinski has an Indiana Jones movie to call his own with Apple TV+’s “Fountain of Youth.”
Forget Indiana Jones: This May, get ready for Jimdiana Jones.
Newton native John Krasinski, best known for his role as Jim Halpert on “The Office,” plays a globetrotting adventurer in the first trailer for “Fountain of Youth,” a new movie headed to Apple TV+ this spring.
The official plot synopsis for “Fountain of Youth” provided by Apple reads like a mix of “Indiana Jones,” “National Treasure,” and a dash of “The Da Vinci Code.”
Krasinski and Natalie Portman play a brother and sister who haven’t spoken in over a year, but reconnect in order to search for the mythical Fountain of Youth. The pair must “use their knowledge of history to follow clues on an epic adventure that will change their lives … and possibly lead to immortality,” according to Apple.
“Fountain of Youth” is from director Guy Ritchie, who has helmed plenty of big-budget action films over the years, including the Sherlock Holmes film series starring Robert Downey Jr.
Co-starring Eiza González (“Baby Driver”), Domhnall Gleeson (“Ex Machina”), Carmen Ejogo (“The Penguin”) and Stanley Tucci (“Conclave”), “Fountain of Youth” begins streaming on Apple TV+ May 23.
