HOUSTON – Wichita State’s Alejandro Jacome and Kristof Minarik dropped their doubles semifinal match to No. 1 seeded team on Saturday morning at George R. Brown Tennis Center, ending their run at the 2024 AAC Individual Championships.
After taking down fifth-seeded Pablo Alemany and Harry Rock of Memphis on Friday, the fourth-seeded Shocker duo could not keep up the momentum on Saturday, falling in the doubles semifinals to Charlotte’s Vasco Prata and Matias Iturbe in a tight match, 7-5, 6-3.
The loss ends the Shockers’ chance to reach the ITA Conference Master’s Tournament, coming up one match short of playing for the AAC Doubles Championship.
A full list of matches from Jacome and Minarik from the week are listed below.
The next action for the Shockers is in Denver, Colorado in the University of Denver’s Colorado Cup, November 1-3.
