INDIANAPOLIS — Three people were shot on the near northeast side of Indianapolis Saturday night.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers were called to the 2300 block of Arsenal Avenue just after 11 p.m. on a report of shots fired. While police were on their way to the scene, they received additional reports that indicated a person had been shot in the area.
When officers arrived at the scene, they located an adult male with injuries consistent with gunshot wounds. Police rendered aid to the victim, applying a tourniquet before medics arrived at the scene.
Per IMPD, the man was transported from the scene to a local hospital in stable condition.
While they were working at the shooting scene, police received additional reports that indicated two other individuals with injuries consistent with gunshot wounds had been located in Indianapolis.
One of the victims walked into a local hospital, and the other was found at an undisclosed location. IMPD reported that both victims are adult females.
Police believe the two women were injured at the Arsenal Avenue shooting scene. Per IMPD, the two women are currently in stable condition.
After a preliminary examination of the incident, detectives determined some type of gathering took place in the area before the shooting unfolded. IMPD detained a person of interest during its investigation of the shooting.
