(CNN) – The Florida death toll from Hurricane Milton now stands at 32.
In addition to the loss of life, early estimates indicate Hurricane Milton could be one of the top 10 costliest storms in U.S. history.
The research firm CoreLogic estimates damages as high as $34 billion.
The bulk of the losses are from wind damage due to the unusual nature of the storm.
As far as water and storm surge, uninsured flood damage is estimated to be about $4 billion to $6 billion.
These estimates do not include extensive damages from at least nine deadly tornadoes that ripped across Florida before Milton made landfall.
The numbers are far less than the estimated $47.5 billion in damages from Hurricane Helene.
