A 28-year-old man has been arrested and charged in the shooting death of his father and dog.The Marion County Sheriff’s Department (MCSD) reported Austin Poling is charged with murder for the death of Tracy Poling, 55, of Hamilton.When police officers arrived at a home on U.S. Highway 43 in the early morning hours of March 15, found Poling and his dog, also shot and killed, lying beside him.The MCSD said both the man and dog were shot with a handgun.Austin Poling was found walking on a road nearby and arrested.Austin Polling is charged with murder and cruelty to animals and is in jail with a $160,000 total bond.
