A quick coating to 1 inch of snow across inland areas with slippery surfaces overnight. We will start frigid/frosty with slick spots Wednesday with any sunshine quickly fading behind increasing cloudiness. By Wednesday evening, rain and snow will develop. We are looking at mostly rain at the shoreline and SE CT. Away from the shoreline, we could see a coating to 1″ of snow by Thursday morning! The most snow will fall across the northern 4 counties of Connecticut with accumulations of 1″ to 3″ with a slippery Thursday AM commute along with some school delays! Then a blast of Arctic Air for Thursday into Friday!!
Overnight: Mainly clear with slick surfaces. Lows by dawn in the upper teens to mid-20s
Wednesday: Frigid/frosty start with some slippery surfaces. Morning sunshine quickly fades to a cloudy sky for the afternoon, becoming breezy. Dry through dinnertime. Highs in the upper 30s to low 40s. Rain/mix and snow will develop in the evening and continue overnight.
Thursday: A slippery start inland with mix/snow, wet at the shoreline. Gradually drying out with some breaks of sun, becoming very windy, and turning colder with a passing snow squall. Highs in the upper 30s to low 40s, then falling in the afternoon.
Friday: Sun and clouds. A bitter wind with highs in the upper 20s to mid-30s. Wind chill all day in the teens/low-20s.
Saturday: Partly sunny, brisk with highs in the mid-30s.
Sunday: Scattered clouds, more seasonable with highs in the upper 30s to low 40s.
Monday: Increasing cloudiness, milder with late-day rain. Highs in the mid to upper-40s .
